Longing for Togetherness
1 mins read
Kengo and I have been married for two years now. Shortly after we started living together, Kengo had to go on a business trip out of state. Although Kengo frequently calls and emails, Meg felt lonely living apart from him.
"I wish we could be together more," she thought, though she never said it out loud.
Then, she received a message that he would be able to come home this weekend.
Meg was delighted and prepared Kengo's favorite dishes while waiting for him. As soon as he returned, Kengo embraced her tightly.
"Meg, I've missed you. It must have been lonely," he said.
"No, I was fine," Meg replied, burying her face in his chest. But she knew it was a lie. In truth, she felt much lonelier and wanted to be held more.
